Everyone's talking about Pinterest lately.
Unique visitors to the site grew 400% from September to December 2011, and just last week one study showed that Pinterest drives more visitors to third-party websites than Google+, YouTube and LinkedIn combined.
I'm still new to it, and haven't used it very much yet. Presumably, a decent amount of the traffic that Pinterest drives to these third-party sites end up at a site where they can purchase what they've found on Pinterest. Have you bought anything you found first on Pinterest? Has Pinterest or any other social platform begun to affect the way you search?
Permalink Reply by Jessica Brice on February 29, 2012 at 10:21am I LOVE Pinterest! I've become almost addicted to it!
You can search anything from outfit inspirations to fitness exercises to recipes to DIY home projects....However, I have not yet purchased anything from Pinterest.
And, yes...I now find myself searching my ideas and recipes on Pinterest as well. I recommend LinkedIn for anyone who is looking for a job. I also recommend Facebook for keeping in touch with friends & loved ones and Twitter for anyone who wants to keep up on the latest gossip (or anyone who just wants a good laugh!).
I agree with Jessica. I absolutely love Pinterest. I found that I would spend hours searching for this or that so I try to limit myself to only viewing things on the weekends. I have definitely bought items thanks to the ideas found on Pinterest. I pick out at least one or two recipes to try each week. I have also found myself hitting the craft stores to try and duplicate the cute crafts. I am looking forward to spring when I can use the gardening tips. Overall, I think Pinterest can definitely help sales but I hope that it does not turn into something more commercial. I like that it doesn't have advertisements but instead has ideas and tips from other users just like me.
